Maseru – The International Federation of Football Association (FIFA) have contributed in giving out T-shirts for volunteers assisting in the success of the Maseru 2020 Region 5 Youth Games.
The official giving was made yesterday at Lesotho Avani whereby as of today the collection of 791 T – shirts were transported to New Mellenium premises where the volunteers are accommodated safely.
Speaking to Maseru Region 5 2020 online, FIFA women’s officer, Salome Iiyambo confirmed that FIFA also contributed the financial support of around USD 46, 345.00 of the games in order to develop youth athletes and referee courses officiating in the ninth edition of the African Union Sports Council (AUSC) Regin 5 games.
She lastly showed that the U15 girls team festival will be held as to promote players to the U17 national team in order to avoid excuses of not having girls representing their nations in this kind of competition.
Dr Mohale Mabaleha, as Chairman of the Local Organizing Committee ( LOC) also confirmed thankfully that the T-shirts are there as he was part of consultants seeing to it that they are collected from Setsoto Stadium to their destined place.
The leader of LOC volunteers, Refiloe Maphahlela, further clarified that the distribution may be done later today as volunteers are still working from different spots of account.
